  • Fishing : National Fishing Permit is obligatory. There are 2 private lakes on the premises reserved for residents only - a permit is supplied on arrival.
  • Mountainbiking : Hire possible at the reception.
  • Equitation : July-August only. Rides (horses, donkeys, ponies) for 1 hour, half a day or full day. Contact 05.59.28.51.29
  • Hill walking : hundreds of kilometers of marked footpaths : GR10, HRP (Orhy peak 2000m away), educational footpaths...
  • Orgambideska Observation Point : from mid-July to mid-November : important site to see migratory birds. Contact : the col is directly 500 m from the chalets reception.
  • Tennis : 2 courts with free access: racket hire at the reception.
  • Miscellaneous : Many natural sites to visit in the area.
    At just a few kms away : the village of Larrau with the Holzarté bridge, that of Saint-Engrâce and the Kakuetta gorges.
    A little further away : Mauléon, the capital of the espadrille.
    Less than 1h30 away, the Atlantic Ocean and it's beaches as well as the border villages.

    Cross country ski resort :
  • When the weather conditions are ideal, the Commission Syndicale du Pays de Soule prepares Nordic skiing runs every day in the Iraty forest.

  • The Ski Runs :      
    The marking of the runs indicate the technical difficulty and the distance. At Iraty there are 4 cross country runs comprising a total of 40 kms :
    • A green run (return 1,6 km) "ikasgia"
    • A blue run (circle : 3 km) "zarzagoity"
    • A red run (circle + return 11 km) "petrilarre"
    • A black run (circle : 22 km) "uthurcharre"
    and 2 itineraries for showshoeing.
    • Bagargiak : 2,5 Km
    • Iraizabaleta : 5 Km
    • Cihigolatzé : 8 Km
  • Access to runs :
    • You need a ski pass authorising you to use the runs. The licence fee for 2009-2010 delivered by FRANCE SKI DE FOND allows access to most of the French Nordic sites.

  • Equipment hire :
    • The hire workshop has a large amount of skis, poles and boots.
    For example, for an adult comprising the ski pass :

    The workshop also has snowshoes and toboggans at the following rates :
    * Snowshoes :
